Drum roll please! As of April 15, 2021, I am excited to announce that our “Playing for Keeps – How a 21st century businesswoman beat the boys!” book cover and website have been updated to better reflect our personal brand as an author and business cheerleader.
When I started my author journey by writing “Playing for Keeps,” our family heritage took center stage. I wanted to share the lessons learned from prominent figures in my bloodline, including my grandfather J.C. Allison (who competed against William Mulholland to bring water to Southern California,) great, great grandparents who settled in California during the Gold Rush, and last (but certainly not least), our family’s connection to Winston Churchill and the Devonshire Churchills (which includes Lady Diana Spencer.) Hence, the original book cover reflected a Monopoly game design with water utilities and railroads.
After reading the book reviews and doing media interviews, I have found that people are most interested in my career success story as a woman who broke barriers in a man’s world. The updated book cover and brand reflects our business success secrets, including my Pearls of Wisdom and pink Velvet Gloves that have become my signature and personal brand.
My hope is to be able to continue to share the lessons learned during my career, and be a “Business Cheerleader” and mentor who helps others succeed in business and life.
